Chris often consults with clients in their home on the art portion of any project. She works with interior designers as well. Her focus is creating the desired impact and getting size, color and scale right for the space. She can also suggest reframing ideas for existing art to upgrade the look and feel of their space.
Important Considerations:
- Think through multiple sight lines in each space.
- Create variety and get the scale right…use one large piece or multiple smaller pieces.
- Make sure the look, feel and color complement your home.
- Try to light your art with color-corrected art lighting.
- Use a professional installer if you are unsure of yourself.
Common Mistakes:
- Using pieces too small for the available space.
- Hanging art too high.
- Being too “safe” or too “matchy/matchy” with colors.
- Filling all available spaces…too cluttered.
- Allowing glare on pieces near a window, framed with glass.
