Jangmee Park

Jangmee Park was born in Seoul, Korea in 1964.  She received her BFA and MFA from the Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul and began exhibiting her works in 1988.  Whether they are on paper or canvas, large or small, Park’s paintings are filled with playful imagery and daring colors.  Paint, oil pastels and collage are juxtaposed with confidence.  Jangmee feels her abstract compositions are a representation of human life, an accumulation of memories of shapes, moments and colors.  Her work can therefore be interpreted as a mapping of human experiences.  The artist’s work has been featured in shows throughout Korea, Canada and the United Kingdom.  Her paintings can be found in collections in North America, Europe and Asia.
