Sydney Edmunds

Sydney Edmunds attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where she received her BFA.  A college highlight involved a professor who forever changed her art.  “I was working on a painting; it was just the under painting. I really liked it, but felt I had to do more to it as I had been trained to do. My teacher told me if you like it, then it’s done.  Just that simple!  I will always love him for that; he freed my mind that day and has forever made me a better painter.”

The artist’s style has evolved over the years.  “I never thought I would paint abstract paintings, but I love how free you can be.”  Whether a pure abstract or an abstracted birch lake, her compositions offer a balance and harmony of line and color.  Her work captures a sense of exploration and simple elegance, clean clear lines, linear and controlled.

Edmunds lives and paints in Phoenix, AZ.  Her work can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
