Jerome Fisher

Jerome Fisher was born in Stockton, California in 1946 and began drawing at age 17.  Two years later, he enrolled at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and began his formal art education under the guidance of acclaimed master painter and watercolorist, Peter Egeli.  He later transferred to the Maryland Institute of Art, where he shifted his focus to more abstract subjects.  Fisher’s work is distinctive in that he layers his paint to produce a complexity of colors coming through color, thereby creating a very rich surface effect.  There is more to his paintings than meets the eye.  Despite the simplicity of the subject matter, interest is created through the artist’s technique.  Jerome has lived and painted professionally in Maui, Northern California and Guam.  His work can be found throughout the United States and Asia.
