Bio
Born in 1950, Jean Laurent is a painter of classic French scenes of marine history.
He travels extensively, drawing and capturing the light of “plein aire” along many coastlines. The artist makes time to pursue his love of the outdoors, particularly sailing and mountain climbing. Each of Laurent’s paintings is a recreation of life in the harbors of past echoes. He is particularly adept at painting light and air, creating the sense that it spreads in time, almost to eternity.
Laurent’s work is collected throughout Europe and the United States, including extensive exhibits in Germany.
