Jangmee Park

Jangmee grew up in Seoul, South Korea and enjoys nature and music.  Both are significant influences in her art.  After graduating with a B.F.A. and M.F.A. from Ewha Women’s University in Korea, she moved to Canada in 2000.

The artist creates water-based drawings and collages with materials including pencil, pencil crayons, paper and magazines. With these products Jangmee expresses what is hidden in the shapes and colors on the canvas.

Like dreams, art is a colorful blend of imagination and experience. Jangmee channels her personal language of art into abstract paintings in layers and. Her life, attitude, feelings, and how she sees the world is reflected her paintings.  Her works have been shown in solo and group shows in both Korea and Canada from 1992 to the present and are held in private collections throughout Korea and North America.
