Heather Haynes grew up Ontario, Canada. As a child, a visual disorder impaired her reading and school work suffered. However, she excelled in art and this became her heartfelt focus. She ended up attending the Visual Arts program at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Heather describes herself as a contemporary folk impressionist. She draws inspiration from nature and everyday objects. Her paintings have a loose, stylized feel, infused with the intriguing sense of a timeless peace. The artist lives with her husband and two sons in a refurbished old schoolhouse, complete with a fully-equipped studio.
Her work is collected throughout Canada, Britain and the United States.
