Dean Moyer was born in 1952 in Seoul, Korea. He showed great promise from an early age and entered his first competition at age 9, winning acclaim at the National Young Artist Competition in Seoul. He is self taught and very self motivated.  Moyer’s inspiration comes from travelling all over his country. Most of his paintings consist of detailed landscapes with a hint of impressionism, mixed with a dash of realism. Using soft brush strokes and thick layers of paint, the paintings look and feel bold and the colors are rich and strong. His use of vibrant colors mixed with strong color contrasts draws much attention to his subjects. The artist has won numerous competitions in his career and has the honor of having his work in displayed in several prominent museums and memorial halls in South Korea. His work is held in collections throughout Asia and the United States.
