Cheryl Gross grew up in New York, attended the School of Visual Arts, Hunter College and the Art Students League, and graduated with highest honors from the Pratt Institute.

She is best known for the generous use of her palette, utilizing bold strokes of crimson, cobalt and yellow. Recently, she has shifted her focus from urban landscapes and studies of the human figure from interesting angles to a variety of musical instruments, including some with historical significance.

In addition to regular shows in the United States, Ms. Gross is a visiting professor at the Pratt Institute and Curator at the Park Slope Artist Counsel.
