Barloga Studios

Barloga Studios is the father/son tandem of Dennis & Roy Barloga, making unique photographs in a shared studio in Northern California. Both have spent their entire adult lives producing artistic photography. They combine their talents to best utilize modern printing technology and traditional photographic techniques to make unusual prints on a variety of “unphotographic” substrates. Nepalese paper is handmade in the heart of the Himalayas by artisans who combine a traditional process of ancient papermaking with modern fashion and style. It is prized for its superior strength, durability and rich texture. It is made from the bark of the Daphne plant by women’s cooperatives in Nepal, using all local raw materials. Each piece of paper is unique, with slight variations in color, thickness, size and shape. The finished product is titled and hand-signed in pencil.
