Laurie Adams

Laurie Adams started painting when her children were in school full time and worked for years under the tutelage of renowned artists from the Denver Art Students League. She has achieved a serene and sensitive look to her work. Her soft oil paintings often portray figures in a romantic or quiet/sedate light. Christian Charvet

Christian Charvet was born in Paris in 1940.  The artist’s work has evolved through three periods: 1) the “Blue Period” (1970’s), which was characterized by monochrome coloration; 2) the “Blue Period Continuation” (1980’s), in which social groups appear, represented within a carnival theme, but still monochrome and cold looking; and 3) the “Red Period” (1990’s), in which color tones change and he introduces a series of studies on painters and poets.  Most notable is his study of the poet Arthur Rimbaud.  Charvet’s work was recently honored by the French Postal Service, which issued a stamp with Rimbaud’s image.

Alex Dobrowsky

Born in 1963 in Russia, Alex Dobrowsky showed talent at an early age, resulting in his attendance at The Academy for Gifted Children and later at the Repin Academy of Fine Arts, both in St. Petersburg, Russia. Later he studied with artist, Suvorov. He has developed a figurative style in oil reminiscent of French artist Paul Chagall that is primitive, yet sophisticated. His subject matter seems sentimental as it includes Russian folk images of musicians and peasants. Whimsical images of figures, both at rest and play, set in muted landscapes celebrate the past and remind the viewer of the days before high technology. Alex Dobrowsky has repeatedly demonstrated his innate artistic talents through his numerous exhibitions around Europe.

Thomas Hamann

Born in Stuttgart in 1955, Thomas Hamann studied at the Technical University of Design in Aachen, Germany and the Academie de Toegepaste Kunsten in Maastricht, Netherlands. In Hamann’s words: “It has been a long time since I could say that I’ve ‘created’ a piece or that I’ve made something. I feel more and more that I am guided, that I put myself into that flow. If I let happen what wants to be expressed, then I experience a feeling that profoundly touches me--a strong sense of harmony and that the work is just right. Sometimes it feels like memories and I wonder to which place it will guide me and I follow as far as it goes. Nature also attracts me strongly. Therefore, every morning I go into the nearby forest. And each time I experience gratitude and peace. There is a perception of clarity here with direct experience of the laws of nature and its rhythm.

Goli Mahallati graduated from the University of Tehran in 1977 and, in 1979, completed her Masters work at the American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Her paintings are especially known for their warm and luminescent color palette and her mysterious forms. They are less about thinking and more about intriguing energies from which they have arisen. Goli works with a pallet knife, rather than with the more traditional brush, creating bold areas of color and texture. Her images of individuals alone and in communal groups are stirring. The artist now makes her home in Southern California. Her work can be found in private collections throughout the United States.

Philip Saxon

Philip Saxon was born and raised in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. His passion for art began in 6th grade during a class field trip to the Milwaukee Art Museum. He went on to earn a BFA at the University of Wisconsin (Milwaukee) and a MFA at Northern Illinois University. Saxon’s work is strongly influenced by the work of the early modernists, especially Picasso, Matisse, Nolde and Giacometti. His paintings express his own journey of self-discovery and self-disclosure. Believing that we all experience a common range of emotions in life, Saxon attempts to convey, in abstract terms, these universal experiences. His objective is to provoke a personal response in the viewer as well. Saxon lives and works in Racine, Wisconsin with his wife of 20 years. His drawings and paintings have been included in numerous exhibitions and collections throughout the United States.
