Antoine Claes

Antoine Claes was born in Montreal in 1971 of Canadian and Belgian nationality. Abstract notions like verticality, pictorial organization and treatment of light inspire his work. The references stem from the urban universe like technology or architecture. The research is aesthetic and his commitment is based on letting the matter inspire, instead of trying to justify it in another way. Nonetheless, the paintings have titles and themes that inspire the creation of the artwork. Claes has a passion for photography and this discipline is a reference and an inspiration in his paintings.

Thomas Hamann

Born in Stuttgart in 1955, Thomas Hamann studied at the Technical University of Design in Aachen, Germany and the Academie de Toegepaste Kunsten in Maastricht, Netherlands. In Hamann’s words: “It has been a long time since I could say that I’ve ‘created’ a piece or that I’ve made something. I feel more and more that I am guided, that I put myself into that flow. If I let happen what wants to be expressed, then I experience a feeling that profoundly touches me--a strong sense of harmony and that the work is just right. Sometimes it feels like memories and I wonder to which place it will guide me and I follow as far as it goes. Nature also attracts me strongly. Therefore, every morning I go into the nearby forest. And each time I experience gratitude and peace. There is a perception of clarity here with direct experience of the laws of nature and its rhythm.

Tom Matucci

Known for his rich textures and atmospheric imagery, Tom Matucci balances abstraction and representation into an exquisite fusion that pushes traditional boundaries of painting. Moody landscapes are surrounded by complex textures. A tactile look is achieved, delighting the sense of touch as well as sight. His work has a captivating earthy quality that strikes a primordial chord with the viewer. Tom works intuitively, evolving from his inner self. He never knows how a painting will end up; he lets the process guide him. Matucci's work is at once dynamic and powerful, quiet and moody. His paintings have been called dimensional poetry, conveying a textural story left to the viewer's own interpretation. Tom's artwork has been exhibited in solo and group shows. His work may be found in galleries nationwide and in private and corporate collections worldwide. His collectors span the globe from Napa Valley to Hollywood, Chicago to Boston, South Africa to Paris.

Please call the gallery for pricing on individual paintings. The artist is also available for commissions, allowing the buyer to specify size, subject matter and color.

Nancy Ngo

Born in Chicago, Ill., but transplanted to Arizona as a child, Nancy Ngo received her B.F.A. degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2001.  Nancy's awareness of the play of light and shadow and its effect on color plays an important role in her work today.  The dichotomy of the natural desert landscape of Arizona versus the urban downtown environment of Chicago led her to a certain "no rules" style of painting.  Her paintings have a certain raw, playful, and sometimes unfinished quality in which the work holds a kind of potential energy, excitement and freedom.  Ngo’s work is held in collections throughout the United States.

Kathleen Doud Reilley

Kathleen Doud Reilley, a fourth generation resident of Ventura, California, was born into a family of artists. She grew up with easels, paints, pastels, art classes and gallery visits. She received her B.A. from Chico State, with a major in Liberal Studies and a minor in Art. After a teaching career lasting several years, she turned to serigraphs for the next 20 years, printmaking on paper, fabrics and tiles. Her focus on encaustic painting only began in 2003. Doud Reilley’s compositions are paintings in the encaustic medium, representing aspects of nature, from landscapes to seascapes, often focusing on the horizon line, the line that separates us from our place on earth and the heavens. Encaustic paint consists of beeswax and pigment with a resin base. It must be heated before application, each layer of paint fused to the layer beneath. Encaustic paint can be opaque or translucent, giving a unique depth to the finished product. And, when heated, the beeswax smells divine, often attracting hummingbirds to the sweet honeyed fragrance in Kathleen’s studio.
